On September 27, four beneficiaries from the Prepanet program represented PEACE Punta de Mita at the XIV Mexican Philosophy Olympiad (Regional Phase), held at the University of Guadalajara's Preparatoria No. 8. The competition gathered 86 high school students across the state to engage in reflection, discussion, and essay writing about contemporary philosophical challenges.
The student delegation consisted of Elisa Guadalupe Arreola López, Khatia Kimberly Martínez, Daniel Aurelio Vega Lozano, and Carmen Paola Julián Maximino. They were guided by Magdalena Arcadia Soria, who teaches Language & Communication and served as the official event advisor.
The group departed from Punta de Mita at 4:00 a.m., beginning what would become "a sense of excitement that carried the group through every moment." Students demonstrated commitment through the welcome ceremony and essay competition, with each approaching the challenge individually—some completing their work early while others maximized available time for thoughtful expression.
This experience underscores the intellectual development students have achieved through Prepanet. The program transforms classroom discussions and writing exercises into participation at national academic forums, demonstrating that the education provided maintains high quality and national competitiveness.
Official results will be announced on World Philosophy Day in November. However, the primary achievement has already materialized: students witnessed firsthand that their education is both meaningful and competitive nationally. PEACE remains committed to creating such opportunities, enabling every student to recognize their potential and take pride in their accomplishments.
