Prepanet at PEACE: Completing One Cycle, Beginning Another
PEACE Punta de Mita celebrated the completion of Prepanet's inaugural school year, marking growth and student determination. With one cohort reaching the midway point, 40 new beneficiaries have been accepted for the 2025–2027 program.
When PEACE Punta de Mita launched Prepanet in partnership with Tecnológico de Monterrey, the organization recognized the transformative potential for local youth. One year later, the program celebrated the completion of its inaugural school year—a period marked by obstacles, growth, and student determination.
The first cohort has reached the midway point of their two-year path to high school completion. Students demonstrated commitment and intellectual curiosity, while families and staff reinforced that education requires collective participation grounded in commitment and compassion.
As the initial cycle concluded, attention turned toward expansion. The admissions process for the 2025–2027 cohort yielded encouraging outcomes, with 40 new beneficiaries accepted from five communities. These prospective students underwent rigorous evaluation procedures and interviews. Most also participated in two preparatory phases addressing mathematics, technology skills, and platform navigation.
The second generation broadens program reach across Punta de Mita, Higuera Blanca, La Cruz, Bucerías, and Sayulita. According to Prepanet Coordinator Paloma Bartz: "Admissions are more than just a series of steps—they are an opportunity to hear each young person's story."
The organization views Prepanet as extending beyond academics—it functions as a pathway connecting youth to previously inaccessible opportunities while advancing PEACE's educational mission. With one graduating generation and 40 incoming students prepared to begin, leadership remains committed to fostering resilience and possibility for regional communities.
