PEACE Punta de Mita announced that Gordon Ritchie has rejoined its board of directors. Based between Calgary and Punta Mita, Ritchie previously chaired the board's finance committee and remains committed to the organization's educational mission in the region.
Ritchie expressed satisfaction with the organization's financial standing, stating: "I'm delighted with the financial stability that PEACE and its leadership have achieved." He emphasized priorities around fundraising and program excellence while avoiding service duplication with other local foundations.
Background and Experience
Ritchie brings extensive professional credentials to the role. He spent 37 years at RBC Capital Markets in senior positions across London, New York, and Calgary. Since retiring, he has chaired multiple boards including Obsidian Energy and Pipestone Energy, and served as lead independent director for Kinder Morgan Canada.
His nonprofit involvement spans numerous organizations: United Way of Calgary and Area, Banff Center for the Arts, Hull Child and Family Services, TransCanada Trail, Trout Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and Canada Company. He also served on the Winsport Board and University of Calgary Board, chairing investment committees for both.
Reflecting on his return, Ritchie noted: "Retirement has been, and still is, a busy time for me to give back—this time for future generations in the Punta de Mita area."
